If you don’t eat before a workout to will find yourself fatigued and find yourself struggling to get through the workout. At that point our bodies will burn off what ever carb’s we have left in our body to make up for the missing food in our body

Another negative side effect of working out on an empty stomach is losing muscle mass. Your body needs energy during these intense sessions and it needs to burn something off. It’ll start to utilize muscle or protein in your body. This is detrimental to your body as well as unhelpful to healthy weight loss. Before any in home personal training session you should eat.

Before any workout, eat fuel efficient foods aka Carbs! Depending on the amount of time you have before a workout, your body will react in different ways. You will find that your body will react better to fruit and veggies if you eat around 45 min’s before a workout. However, some oatmeal with cinnamon and peanut butter can do the trick just as well! Find what works best for you and stick with it! Following a fitness plan can also be very beneficial because it includes key foods to eat.

The key is to not to eat too much or too little! It’s okay if there’s some protein and fat in the meal, however they’ll do nothing to give you the fuel you need to get in a great workout. Some foods to take note of that can give you a lot of energy but are still healthy:

-Fruit. Blueberries, bananas, peaches or apples are great. Fruit juices work too but keep it to 1- cup serving.

– A Smoothie. Mix a cup of fruit and veggies with a cup of non fat almond milk!) and ice. This makes for a delicious pre-workout treat.

-Eggs made in any way you’d like with a side of your favorite fruit. Or broil an egg and remove the yolk. make it with a side of hummus.

-Low-fat yogurt with a sliced banana

-Whole wheat toast with almond (or peanut) butter. A great substitution would be Ezekiel bread.

-Half a chicken, turkey or lean roast beef sandwich on whole-wheat bread

Fueling your body before a workout is super important and will yield much better performance levels. Remember the food you eat is just as significant as working out!
