What Causes Cellulite? Why We Can Stop Wasting Money On Expensive Cellulite Treatments!

What does cause cellulite? Did you know most women older than 20 have Cellulite? I bet all of them totally hate it too, and want to know exactly what causes it. I don’t know about you but I exercise regularly, I eat healthfully; I was even ran a marathon. But I still have awful cellulite. I’ve also spent hundreds, maybe thousands, on creams, massages, oils, acupuncture and other treatments. All of which have made little or no permanent difference. You’ve probably done the same thing right? So we all know that the awful, bumpy look of cellulite isn’t easy to erase.

The problem is we all want a cure for cellulite that’s fast and that actually works right? We want to get rid of cellulite forever, quickly and naturally by using the best cellulite treatment.

Like I said, most post-pubertal women have cellulite to varying degrees. So it comes as no surprise to learn that hormones probably play the biggest role in the formation of cellulite. That’s why it’s us girls who suffer from it and not the guys (unless they have a serious medical condition). Oestrogen, insulin, adrenaline, and thyroid hormones are all believed to participate in its development[1]). As you can see, what causes cellulite is no simple one thing. So, let’s consider other contributing factors.

Changes in metabolism, due to age, are another big one. As we age and lose muscle tone, our metabolism slows down and we burn less fat. Add to that dieting too hard or dieting too much at some stage in our lives (isn’t that all of us?) and the appearance of cellulite is made even worse. Furthermore, as we age and gain or lose weight, the actual structure of our skin changes, as does the connective tissue of our adipose tissue [2] (body fat). All of which makes cellulite appear even worse.

There’s also a genetic element to how visible the cellulite is likely to be. Genetic factors such as race, distribution of subcutaneous fat (the fat directly under the skin), and how efficient our lymphatic and circulatory systems are, all have been shown to contribute to the cellulite problem. Did you know even stress can cause cellulite? Or at least make it worse? Yes, your lifestyle has a lot to do with it. In our world of coffee and alcohol and processed foods, liver toxicity is at an all time high and that just leads to even more cellulite! I guarantee the cellulite we see today is far worse than anything our Grandmothers would have seen. And sometimes, if you lose weight (which is a good thing right?) the cellulite actually appears far worse! It really seems like a no win situation doesn’t it?

So what we need is an easy to do, inexpensive, natural way to reduce cellulite; preferably without strenuous exercise. Maybe a cellulite diet? We need something that truly transforms the lumpy, flabby bits into sexy, smooth limbs. Sound good?

Well now that we know what causes cellulite I really do believe we can start looking for a real solution. I am sure we can all have a cellulite-free belly, hips, and thighs without being ripped off by all the beauty therapy treatments and cellulite creams out there that just don’t work.
